The Rotation, in fact.
Everything on this page is checkable and quotable, and this page is kept current — if a number here disagrees with a number elsewhere, trust this one.
Boilerplate
The Rotation (therotation.ai) is a private register for watch collectors: one accurate record of what a collector owns, wears and hunts — references, serial numbers, photographs, wear history and values, kept in the form a claim or a police report asks for. It identifies watches from photographs using a frontier vision model checked against its own reference catalogue; through the phone it checks how a movement is running and whether it has met a magnet; it is an iPhone app, on the App Store; and it is not a marketplace: nothing is listed, nothing is brokered, and no commission is taken. Founded in 2026.

On the App Store for iPhone since 22 September 2026, and listed there today as The Rotation. Watch Collection.
The numbers
Catalogue figures as of 9 September 2026; the catalogue is assembled from the makers’ own published pages and grows weekly. On the industry: more than eight in ten collectors own several watches and seven in ten carry insurance of some kind (Jewelers Mutual 2025 Watch Study, 1,500+ owners), while the world’s largest register of lost and stolen watches passed £1.7 billion in 2025, taking a new entry roughly every hour (The Watch Register, 2025 annual data).
What it is not
The Rotation is not a marketplace and takes no commission — the register has no opinion about whether you should sell. It is also unrelated to therotation.club, a New York clothing-rental service, to By Rotation, a fashion-rental app, and to the streetwear labels of a similar name. This Rotation keeps watches.
